Withdrawal pending or verification stuck? Sort it here
When a cash-out won't budge or your ID check is dragging, there's almost always a plain reason behind it. Here's what's actually going on and how to clear it.
A withdrawal sitting on "pending" or a verification that won't finish is frustrating, but it's rarely something dodgy - it's almost always one of a handful of checks that hasn't been ticked off yet. Work out which one you're on, clear it, and the money moves. Here's the lot, in plain English.
Why your withdrawal is pending
Before a payout leaves, Smokos runs a few standard checks. Any one of these will hold things up until it's dealt with:
- Your account isn't fully verified. A cash-out can be held until verification is done. Until your ID check clears, the withdrawal sits waiting.
- The wager-once rule. Your deposit has to be wagered at least one time before you can pull funds out. Deposit, play through it once, then withdraw - miss that and the request stalls.
- Closed-loop payouts. Withdrawals go back to the same method you deposited with, not a different card or wallet. If you've asked for it to land somewhere else, it won't process.
- You're over a limit. There's a withdrawal ceiling of $50,000 per month (VIP exceptions possible); wins above $50,000 may be paid in monthly $50,000 installments. Anything above that gets handled separately rather than paid in one hit.
Once the checks are satisfied, the payout runs its normal course. Bank transfers take about ~3 banking days (other methods unconfirmed); other methods vary, so don't panic if it's not instant.
Clearing a verification (KYC) hold-up
Verification is a standard ID check - it's usually quick once you send the right documents. The hold-ups almost always come from the paperwork, not the wait. Here's how to get it through first go:
Blurry photos, cut-off corners and expired IDs are the number-one reason a check bounces back. Good light, all four corners in frame, nothing cropped.
The name and address on your documents need to match what's on your account. A mismatch means it gets kicked back for another round.
That's typically photo ID plus proof of your payment method. Send everything in one go rather than dribbling it out.
Verification can include a quick phone check, and if they can't reach you after a withdrawal request the account can get locked. Keep an eye on your messages until it's done.
Common reasons a payout gets knocked back
If your withdrawal was declined rather than just pending, it's usually one of these: the account wasn't verified, the deposit hadn't been wagered, you tried to cash out to a different method than you deposited with, or the details didn't match up. Fix the specific one and resubmit - there's no penalty for having another crack once it's sorted.
How to escalate
Still stuck after you've ticked the boxes? Take it up the chain:
The 24/7 live chat is your first port of call. The crew can see exactly what's holding your withdrawal or verification up and tell you how to clear it.
If chat can't resolve it, ask them to log it as a formal complaint. It then gets handled by support and escalated internally. Note the window: disputes need to be raised within 3 days of the bet being settled.
Still not happy? You can take it to the external dispute-resolution body, EGIS - FZCO, free of charge. They handle disputes independently of the casino.
You can reach the ADR through their site: EGIS - FZCO. It's an independent service, so it's there for the cases you and support can't settle between you.
